In the world of search engine optimisation there are generally two schools of thought on the methods and techniques that should be utilised to raise a website in search engine rankings. Of these two schools there is ‘black hat’ optimisation that can be described as unethical and pursues a course of action that works towards hoodwinking the search engine mechanisms into raising a sites’ profile. By using black hat optimisation methods however you will in fact harm your rankings in the long run, more advisable is the ethical route.
The history of black hat optimisation started around a decade ago when the search engine mechanisms, or algorithms were not yet developed entirely. Like most things in life if there is a way to cheat the system many will try. In these early stages the search engine algorithms were manipulated. This was especially true in the ‘adult’ industries where black hat optimisation was employed extensively to raise specific sites’ rankings. But how has black hat developed? What methods of optimisation are still considered unethical in the eyes of a search engine? Read the rest of this entry »

Opportunities to make money from home have never been so accessible to so many people. The internet provides hundreds of programs for business owners and consumers alike to promote their products and earn money doing it. No longer do you need a degree in network marketing to be successful in sales. You need only a computer, and a great affiliate marketing program.
Selecting the Right Program
There are hundreds of affiliate programs. Some programs deal with specific types of products, such as digital information, while others partner with a wide range of businesses. In order to select a program that is right for you, keep in mind the following factors:
1. How are commissions calculated? Some affiliate programs pay based on the number of people you attract to the product, regardless of whether they purchase. Other programs pay commission solely on products sold.
2. How will the program help me? When you are just starting out, you will have many questions about the program. It is essential to do your research and find a program that offers help to beginners. The program must provide support for its affiliates. There are many great programs for ‘newbies’, which provide step by step instructions and video tutorials.
3. What products are offered through the program? Success in affiliate marketing lies in your ability to be a genuinely helpful resource to your prospective consumers. The mix of products you sell needs to correspond with your interests and talents, otherwise you will come across as a phony salesperson! Find programs that offer products in your areas of interest such as books, automobile accessories, sporting equipment, wine or any area in which you have expertise.
4. How flexible is the program? Many affiliate programs require a website on which you will place an affiliate link. If you do not have a website, locate a program that allows you to market through emails, articles and ezine advertisements etc.
5. What is the time frame for commissions? Locate an affiliate program that has a long return time. The return time is the length of time from the first time a consumer clicks on your informational link to the product to the time when they purchase the product. The longer the return time, the more likely you are to earn commissions. Longer return times allow consumers to think and come back, while you still gain a benefit from introducing them to the product.
Once you have narrowed your choices of affiliate programs in which to participate, choose one and get started. Stick with your program of choice for as long as necessary, as it will take time to develop a strong system and begin seeing results. There is nothing like that first commission to keep you going! Focus on your first sale, and then stay in it for the long haul. It is a cross-country race, not a sprint, but there is potential for great rewards, long-term.

All that you have heard is true. With pay per click marketing, you can make a lot of money with little effort, in a relatively short time. It can be a great asset to any advertising campaign. However there is a little secret that nobody lets you know. Behind the scenes of every successful pay per click marketing campaign is a sharp mind and a lot of hard work.
Choice of search engine is the key to the success of your campaign. Of course when you think of pay per click the big engines like Google and Yahoo spring to mind. This is because they are bigger and, some would say, better than the other engines. At the same time it should be noted that there are other search engines available. Pay Per Click Universe lists the top 10 engines.
1. Google
2. Yahoo!
3. ABC Search
4. Search Feed
5. 7 Search
6. MIVA
7. Enhance Interactive
8. Findology
9. Microsoft adCenter
10. Ask.com
Smart marketers will be able to utilize all of these programs and will see which ones work best for their business.
Choice of keywords is critical to your pay per click success. Your choice will be determined by 2 types of keywords; tight niche ones that will bring a small amount of traffic but only a few sales and general ones that bring a large amount of views but a lot of wasted leads. Popular keywords can be found by looking at the search engine database, but do not rely on these alone. This is because these popular keywords will bring a good stream of views but not many sales.
Bidding will be your next choice. The position of your ad will be determined by how much you want to pay per click. Obviously the highest bidder will get the best position and exposure. Positioning is critical to success, as searchers will rarely look beyond the first 5 pages of the search results. If your ad is not among these pages you might as well consider it forgotten.
Lastly do not forget the importance of micromanagement. It is critical to your success that you do not forget to do this. You must understand how each of your ads are contributing to your business. Are they pulling? Are they bringing in money and are you getting leads from them? Be ready to tweak and if necessary delete your ads.
It is possible to make a tidy profit with your pay per click marketing. However in order to do this you will need to micro-mange your campaign and do your research carefully. Remember the key to success is being willing to experiment. Do not get frustrated if you do not see the money coming in as soon as you start your account. Bear in mind that “Rome was not built in a day.”
So do not just read about these points memorize them and put them into action. You will be glad you did when you see the money coming in from your pay per click advertising. Use multiple engines to multiple your profits.

With thousands of people getting online every day in hopes of finding the magic formula for earning part-time income it also brings more and more shrewd people who are more than willing to collect the monies of those in search of that extra income, whether it is legitimate or not!
It is not easy to find a good way to earn a part-time income on the internet but I have been doing so for the past couple of years and I can tell you there are good companies out there if you know how to find them. Doing your research is the key.
Following are some of the precautions I look for, as a part-time income seeker, in determining whether or not a business is a good idea or if it is just hype by guys or companies that will end up costing me money.
Make sure you can contact the owner of the business or the promoter of the business with any questions you might have. If it is legitimate, there will be an email address or a phone number where you can contact someone to get your questions answered. Find out how long it takes them to respond to you. If it takes a few days, beware as this might be an indication of how it will be when you join this business.
You see those who promote with pictures and videos of fancy cars, houses, and money on their coffee tables who tell you that if you simply follow their steps to success, you will have the same thing. Learning to do those steps is another story. There is much skill involved and if you lack those skills, you will lose.
People who are looking to make more money are also looking for a way to save more money therefore, they will never be convinced that your over-priced product is the greqatest thing out there. Companies that tell you they have the greatest product on the market and they will make you rich only do so to line their pockets.
Nobody is looking for a second full-time job. Forget those companies or guys who tell you you need to spend two hours a day on the training calls and in the back office of a website. If it is a true part-time opportunity, that simply won’t be necessary.
I can only tell you that I have never had a friend or family member become successful in any business I recruited them into. All it did was create uneasy situations at family gatherings. Beware of thos guys or companies who tell you you need to recruit friends and family.
Promoting a website is the hardest part of making money on the internet. If you don’t have traffic, you don’t have sales. If a company tells you they will supply everything and all you have to do is promote the website, you better reconsider if you do not have that kind of experience.
I am sure there are many other precautions but always remember that old cliche, “If it sounds to good to be true…it probably is.” My experience tells me that you need to take your time and do your research when trying to find a true part-time business.

Well as you guys no doubt know, to really succeed with our internet marketing careers, we need to have great digital products that convert all of our qualified leads into real, cash-paying customers. For many people, coming up with products will involve them creating them on their own, or it may involve them commissioning other professionals to do the hard work for them.
Chances are though, like most smart internet marketers, you probably want to save a whole lot of time and money. After all, if you were to create your own e-book for instance, expect to spend tens of hours doing the research you need, and then writing the book itself – and that’s if you’re only semi-decent at writing. If you’re a good writer, it will still take you hours and hours and if you’re terrible, well, forget it, because your e-book won’t sell!
Now, you certainly won’t go wrong by hiring a good writer to create a really good e-book, but think about how much a good writer is going to cost you. Wouldn’t you rather spend that money on getting visitors to your site so you can make more money? Read the rest of this entry »

When you are just starting your online business finding the right products to sell online is the number one problem. Knowing where to look can help.
1. Drop Shipper Directories Drop shippers are wholesalers that will ship direct to your customers so that you don’t have to invest in or store inventory. Directories of drop shippers are for sale online, but make sure you’re buying a reputable one.
2. Local Businesses: You may find businesses in your backyard that offer just the right products, but are not yet into e-commerce. Offer to sell their product online in exchange for a percentage of any profits you make.
3. Crafters: Local crafters are a good source of unique products, and may be willing to reduce their prices for you if you purchase in quantity. Either buy the item outright, or set up a consignment arrangement with them.
4. Garage sales and flea markets: G garage sales are a good place to look for items to sell online. Do some research into categories that interest you, and then start scouring sales for good prices.
5. eBay: eBay itself can be a source for products. Look for wholesale lots that can be broken down for individual sale.
6. Wholesaler Directories: Your local library will probably have directories of manufacturers, wholesalers, and/or distributors. Most directories are organized by SIC code so that you can zero in on the product categories that interested you.
7. Trade Shows: Trade shows are a great way to source products. Lots of merchants gather in one place to look for resellers. To find trade shows in a particular industry, contact trade associations and industry publications.
8. Importers/Exporters: You might want to consider contacting companies that import goods from overseas. It’s possible to source directly from overseas. This requires a lot of expertise, but many companies do it successfully.
